On paper, we’re building an informal network of women interested in self-contained touring…from bicycle travel with just a rack pack and credit card to the fully loaded adventure. On our bikes, we’re having a blast! To find out more, read about 2013 & past tours…links to the right.

We had a great time on the Santa Fe Century as an overnighter (May) and 5-day around Northern New Mexico (June). This first real week-long was last fall…the Katy Trail in Missouri with 11 women (September). And we had a small group of TWT gals in the FL Keys (January).

Future dream trips include San Juan Islands, Tetons, Blue Ridge Parkway, Natchez Trace, Outer Banks,  and southern CA. If we have enough interest, maybe we’ll eventually cross the country along the Southern Tier as a band of self-contained women on the ultimate of bike touring adventures.

If you’re passionate about cycling, there’s just nothing better than a new road every day. Often riders don’t think about taking their bike beyond a day. When explained in its simplicity, with all its possibilities, the wonderful sense of freedom, you’ll hear, “Oh, I’d really love to do that!”

For details on how it all works, get in touch. Once on the email list, you’ll get a occasional newsletters with upcoming trips, touring tips, gear suggestions, reading lists, recipes and such. There’s also a TWT Facebook Group that’s gets some traffic.

It’s great to read about others who enjoy bike touring. I’ll be bookmarking this blog for future reference. Seeing that you’ll be riding the Katy Trail I thought I’d share with you my experience when I rode it in 2010: http://veloduo.wordpress.com/2010/12/12/baggin-the-katy-trail-day-1/
    Have a great trip!
